Who I Am

I was born in North Carolina due to my Dad being in the military, and was mostly raised in Kansas. When I decided to pursue a graduate degree in Social Work, I was drawn to connection between physical and mental health. I also experienced the death of my grandfather while in school, and was drawn even more to healthcare through my work with the incredible Social Workers in hospice.

Experience

I received my Master of Social Work degree from Wichita State University. I am licensed with the state of Kansas as a Licensed Master Social Worker and Licensed Master Addictions Counselor. I was lucky enough to be placed at Hunter Health for my grad school internship from 2018-2019, officially joining the team after graduation. Prior to that, I worked in various social service positions, including as a para in an alternative elementary school, and a community support worker for an organization offering psychosocial rehabilitation.

Why Hunter Health

I love that I get to work for an organization that recognizes there are several layers to a person’s health. In our integrated care approach, I get to work as part of a care team, alongside the patient, to identify strengths, barriers, resources, and treatments that focus on more than just a person’s physical health concerns. I love that Hunter Health allows ALL people access to this kind of care.
