Hunter Health’s Year in Review 2024

We had a stellar 2024. Here’s a quick recap of our Hunter highlights:

In March, we partnered with the Wichita Public Library to host Tommy Orange, author of “There There,” for the Big Read.

In May, we joined with Native Americans around Wichita to celebrate 50 years of the Keeper of the Plains statue at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum.

In June, we celebrated the Central Clinic parking lot expansion with an Employee Tailgate and local food trucks. We also joined with community partners to honor Pride Month and Juneteenth, celebrating LGBTQ+ resilience and emancipation of enslaved Black Americans.

In July, we completed the Central Clinic expansion and welcomed Roselyn Tso, Director of Indian Health Service. We also had our HRSA site visit and received incredible compliments.

In August, we joined community health centers from across the nation in highlighting the significate contributions health centers make during National Health Center Week, which included State of Kansas, Sedgwick County, and City Council proclamations.

In September, we partnered with Destination Innovation, Storytime Village, Go Create!, and WSU’s Art Department to open the Little Free Library on the Brookside Campus.

In October, our CEO Amy Feimer was recognized as one of Wichita Business Journal’s 2024 Executives of the Year. We also announced our Mabee Challenge grant and launched the Central to Wellness Capital Campaign.

In November, we celebrated Native American Heritage Month through employees and board members sharing their reflections in blogs and videos.

In December, we announced our first partner for the Community Wellness Center, Goodwill’s NexStep Alliance.

As we reflect on 2024 and look forward to 2025, we want to thank you for partnering in our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in our community. #HunterHealth #2024wrapup #HappyNewYear
