It’s been a busy and inspiring few months here at Hunter Health — out in the community, building partnerships, and celebrating some incredible accomplishments. We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing team, whose dedication and heart make it all possible. Here are a few recent highlights:
🏆 Health Care Hero Award
We’re honored that Hunter Health has once again been named a Health Care Hero by the Wichita Business Journal for the Community Outreach Award! This recognition celebrates our staff’s tireless efforts with community partners to expand access to care and prevent disease among Wichita’s most vulnerable populations. Thank you, WBJ, for spotlighting healthcare professionals who serve our city with innovation, compassion, and heart.
🚗 Show Pride in Your Ride
Our hearts are full of gratitude to Ward Law LLC for choosing Hunter Health as the beneficiary of their 2025 Show Pride in Your Ride Car Show in honor of International Day of Charity. Each year, this event lifts up a local nonprofit, and we’re deeply grateful to be this year’s recipient. Thank you, Ward Law, for helping us advance our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in our community.
💼 HR Excellence
Our HR team recently attended the 2025 Kansas Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference in Overland Park, where our very own Gay Kimble, Director of Human Resources, was nominated for the Trombold Achievement & Kansas HR Professional of the Year Award. Gay was also recognized as the most tenured HR professional at the conference, with an incredible 42 years of experience! Congratulations, Gay — we’re so proud of your leadership and dedication.
🎓 Advancing Clinical Excellence
Congratulations to Tatiana Muñoz Vargas, Integrated Care Manager, on earning her Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) credential! This milestone reflects years of hard work — a master’s degree, 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience, and a rigorous exam. Tatiana’s achievement is a testament to her passion for delivering exceptional, compassionate care to our patients and community.
💊 Expanding Community Care
We’re also proud to celebrate Judith Jaquez-Lira, Pharmacy Technician, for earning her Pharmacy-Based Community Health Worker Certificate. This accomplishment highlights Judith’s commitment to bridging pharmacy services with community resources, enhancing the care we provide every day. Congratulations, Judith, and thank you for your dedication to our mission and the people we serve.
Every one of these achievements reflects what makes Hunter Health special — a team united by compassion, excellence, and community spirit. We’re so proud of the work we do together!
